Brimsdown 169-9 Shenley 170-5 Saracens Hertfordshire Cricket League Division Six Shenley won at Brimsdown in Enfield on Saturday with a team showing six changes due to absence from the previous week.
Acting captain Steve Scott won the toss and elected to field. Opening bowlers James Davenall and Ed Lillywhite bowled well on a pitch showing pace and bounce, Davenall taking 2 for 5 from ten overs and 3 for 29 overall.
Jemille Al Derraigi was brought on and bowled well for 13 overs, 4 maidens 1 for 22 Brimsdown were now reduced to 51 for 3 off 33 overs.
The introduction of Matt Woodward (11 overs 2 maidens 2 for 41) further contained the scoring rate.
Steve Scott (6 overs 3 for 14) then removed the two batsman who looked capable of posting a good score for 38 and 26 respectively.
Brimsdown finished their innings on 169 for 9 off 53 overs. Opening bats Richard Evans (37) and Garath Brown (37) put on 65 as Brimsdown's opening bowlers struggled to find line and length.
Evans was finally out caught behind to a good delivery.
This brought Bubs Willingham to the crease, but he fell to the second delivery.
Jemile Al Darragi partnered Brown in a stand of 32 before Brown was bowled.
This proved to be the last wicket to fall, as Al Darragi (54 not out) and Laurie Willingham (24 not out) saw sixth placed Shenley home with nine overs to spare.
Next Saturday, Shenley entertain Watton at Stone on the main ground, with a 1.30pm start.
