Chipperfield 187-9 Shenley 186 Saracens Hertfordshire Cricket League Division Six Four LBW decisions cost Shenley the points at bottom of the table Chipperfield on Saturday.
Chipperfield put themselves into bat on what looked like a good batting track.
Shenley's regular opening bowler James Davenall (10-3-25-0) bowled tightly and was unlucky not to get a wicket.
Ed Lillywhite (13-2-40-2) supported well from the other end, but it was Richard Evans (14-0-51-3) and David Shelley (16-2-55-4) that did the majority of the damage.
With only one wicket remaining, Chipperfield finished their innings on 187.
Evans and Senanyake opened Shenley's innings and both looked comfortable until Senanyake was out for 15 with the score on 27.
Gajjar joined Evans and together they put on 83 for the second wicket partnership, Gajjar being the next man out for 63.
Brown (4) and Scott (16) then fell cheaply but with the score at 152-4 off 37 overs, Shenley still only needed 36 off 10 overs, with Evans still going strong.
But in the 38th over the game took an unfortunate turn.
Evans stepped down the track to Chipperfield's leg spinner and was given out LBW after only the bowler appealed.
In the following five overs the ball hit the pads three times and each time was given out LBW.
With two overs to go, Shenley needed just seven runs with one wicket in hand.
However, it was not to be Shenley's day and they were all out for 186 with six balls remaining.
This Saturday Shenley are at home to Cavendish.
SHENLEY: Evans, Senanyake, Gajjar, Brown, Scott, Hodge, Darraji, Davenall, Lillywhite, Shelley, Blackman
