Boreham Wood’s inconsistent form continued as they were beaten 2-0 at home by managerless AFC Fylde.
Andy Taylor’s opener was added to late on by Danny Bradley to confine Wood to defeat and leave them firmly in mid-table in the National League.
Fylde made a flying start as Nathan Ashmore did well to keep out Matthew Kosylo inside three minutes.
Their early endeavour brought about the first goal on 19 minutes when Taylor, released by Oldham Athletic in the summer, crashed home from distance off the underside of the crossbar.
Kabongo Tshimanga had a good opportunity to level before the break, but he was denied buy an excellent last-ditch tackle from Alex Whitmore.
Both sides traded blows in the second half as Kieran Murtagh’s free-kick was saved by James Montgomery and, at the other end, Ashmore produced an excellent stop to deny Nick Haughton.
However, the points were wrapped up in the final minutes for Fylde as Bradley fired home from a poor clearance.
Defeat leaves Wood 14th in the table ahead of tomorrow’s game at home to Aldershot Town.
