Boreham Wood failed to make it three National League wins in a row after succumbing to in-form Barrow last night, who won 3-1.
Quickfire goals from Scott Quigley and Dior Angus put Barrow two up inside 18 minutes. Tyrone Marsh pulled one back for Wood just after half an hour, but Quigley struck again late on to seal victory for Barrow.
The Bluebirds began on the front foot, as form suggested they would, and took the lead after 13 minutes when Angus’ cross was turned in by Quigley at the far post.
Only five minutes later, Angus got himself on the scoresheet as his fierce drive from outside the area flew past Nathan Ashmore.
Barrow threatened a third when John Rooney’s 20-yard effort rippled the side-netting, but instead it was Wood who grabbed the game’s third goal when Marsh headed in his eighth of the season from Adam McDonnell’s corner.
Ashmore made sure that Barrow didn’t pull away at the start of the second half when he tipped Josh Kay’s effort onto the crossbar, but there was nothing he could do late on to deny Quigley his second when he fired home.
Defeat leaves Wood 14th in the table ahead of this Saturday’s game away at FC Halifax Town.
