Boreham Wood eased past Dagenham & Redbridge 3-0 to secure their first win of the National League season.
Kabongo Tshimanga added another brace to the one that he scored in the draw with Chesterfield at the weekend, while Justin Shaibu converted a third with two minutes to go.
The opening goal came after 18 minutes when Keiran Murtagh teed up for MK Dons striker Tshimanga, who finished well to open his account for the evening.
Dagenham boss Peter Taylor took the unorthodox step of making a double substitution before half-time in order to ignite a response from his side.
However, although no goals were forthcoming for almost the remainder of the match, it was Wood who remained the most threatening side and they came close again through Tshimanga when he fired wide at the start of the second half.
Reece Grant spurned the Daggers’ only real chance of the game by firing over, and that miss was punished when Tshimanga doubled his tally from the penalty spot with four minutes remaining.
That goal effectively sealed the points, but Shaibu made absolutely sure there would be no late fightback from Dagenham when he headed in at the back post to make it three.
Wood return to Meadow Park this weekend as they face Sutton United – kick off is at 3.00pm.
