Kane Smith has signed a new two-year deal at Boreham Wood, with the option of a further year, keeping him at the club until at least 2021.
The wing-back joined the club from Hitchin Town in 2017 but spent all of last season out injured after suffering a serious knee injury against AFC Fylde in May 2018.
On signing his deal, Smith told the Boreham Wood website: “I decided to commit to the club because with everything I went through last year with the injury, they were right there by my side helping me and my family wherever possible.
“This meant a lot to me, when I was struggling physically and mentally, whether it was the chairman, gaffer, kit staff, players and of course the physio department, they were all amazing.
“It’s a great club to be around, the energy and the ambition was another reason why I wanted to sign again.”
He continued: “Also, the group of players we have here was a massive reason too, they are an unbelievable bunch of lads who stuck by me last year and always kept me involved and feeling welcome.
“The new lads we’ve got in too just shows where we want to be next year and hopefully we can have a successful season.”
