A CRICKET match in Radlett was disrupted after two cars were broken into during an audacious smash and grab.

Players left the field to investigate after the vehicle windows were smashed outside the entrance of Radlett Cricket Club, in Cobden Hill, on Saturday.

A wallet and a Nokia phone were taken from a black BMW at 3.50pm, and an iPhone 4 was stolen from a Peugeout 308, between 4pm and 4.15pm.

Life member at the club John Clark said: "They had to have a nerve to do that, it was broad daylight and there was a lot of people and cars about.

"There was two games going on up here and the players came off for about five minutes after hearing what had happened."

Two men, both described as black and aged between 20 and 25, were seen in the car park at the time.

One, described as being about 5ft 9ins tall and of slim build, was wearing a brown T-shirt, sunglasses and khaki shorts.
