A CHURCH in Borehamwood has received funding for kitchen improvements from the council.
St Michael and All Angels Church Hall, in Brook Road, received a total of £1,000 from Hertsmere Borough Council's Ward Improvement Initiative Scheme (WIIS) to replace some of the cupboards and worktops.
Borehamwood Cowley Hill councillors, Councillor Ernie Butler and Councillor Ann Harrison pledged £250 each and Councillor Di Hoeskma allocated £500 towards the improvements.
Cllr Harrison said: "We were pleased to be able to come together to help the local hall that is used by various groups in the town."
Residents can make a bid for cash from the WIIS scheme to improve the area they live in. Each Hertsmere councillor gets £1,000 to support projects and schemes.
