I would like to thank the press, residents and community groups for the kindness and respect they have shown me over the past year in my position as Mayor of Hertsmere.
I had an amazing year meeting and greeting people all over the borough of Hertsmere and I believe I made many new friends from one side of the borough to the other.
I have an enormous amount of respect for the many hundreds of volunteers I have met who give so much of their time and energy to helping others and these wonderful people made my year as mayor something special.
The young people I met have given me such a great insight into the youth of today and I believe we are truly blessed as the future will be bright when these young people become adults because of the wonderful schools and teaching they are receiving.
Hertsmere abounds with activity, whether it is in the parks and open spaces, in clubs, day centres, scout and school halls, there is so much going on it is quite wonderful.
Once again I offer my sincere thanks to everyone I have met and I send them all my very best wishes for the future.
Cllr Linda Silver
Hertsmere Borough Council
