RESIDENTS are urged to take pride in Hertsmere this summer by not dropping litter.
Environment portfolio holder, Councillor Jean Heywood (Con/Hillside), said an ongoing campaign teaching respect for the environment was going well, but wanted to remind people to be considerate.
Hertsmere Borough Council is also warning residents they can be fined for dropping litter or not putting their dog on a lead when asked by an authorised council officer or Police Community Support Officer (PCSO).
The fine for the offences is £75, however a discount of £25 is applied if paid within ten calendar days. Money from fines is put back into combating environmental crimes.
