A TREE was planted by children at Shenley Park to celebrate 100 years of girl-guiding.
Children from Shenley and Radlett Rainbows planted the tree and a rose bush in the Walled Garden at the Radlett Lane site with the help of gardener Michael Handscombe.
The group later took a walk through the park and had a picnic to round off the celebrations.
Group leader Tina Law said: “We do an event every single month at the park as it is such a beautiful place to work from.
“The girls really love gardening and planted tomato plants and beans last year. We all have a lot of fun when here.
“We had such a lovely day with beautiful weather and the rose that was planted was called the Centenary Rose of Girl-Guiding.”
