A MOTHER-OF-TWO from Borehamwood will be taking part in a midnight walk to raise money for the Peace Hospice in Watford.

Kerrie Young, 37, will be walking with her 13-year-old daughter Chelsea in the all female Starlight Walk on Saturday June 11.

Inspired by close friends, whose parents were cared for at the hospice, Mrs Young is preparing to join an expected 1,000 women for the 13-mile trek.

She said: “A few people don’t think I will do it, but I have said to them they will have to sponsor me double when I finish”

“I’m really looking forward to the walk and have already started doing a bit of training. I just want to support a cause that was so good to the families of my two friends.”

The Peace Hospice cares for people living with a life limiting or terminal illness and supports their families from Borehamwood and across South West Hertfordshire.

The Hospice needs to raise £3 million of charitable income this year in order to run and develop its services. All the care it provides to its patients and their families is free.
