Regarding Aldenham Country Park, I am puzzled by the absence of any mention of the development taking place next to the toilet area, of facilities for disabled children and young people.
It is hard to miss a new road and high wire fencing enclosing a group of trees and field where a large building is in progress.
The large notice informs us it is provided by Hertfordshire County Council.
This must have been planned many months ago. We understand from the HCC representation at the meeting we attended that the council just wanted to get rid of the park.
No-one on the stage at Allun Hall that evening told us the work planned.
Nor is it mentioned in the latest letter from the Green Belt Society, surprisingly as it is a large development on what I thought is Green Belt land.
We do not begrudge anything for the disabled children, but do we tell our children and grandchildren they can not have any consideration unless they have a disability? Not even a toilet? Could we have some enlightenment on the subject please? Fran Metcalfe
