BOREHAMWOOD Brass Band has been awarded £1000 from two Hertsmere Borough Councillor's ward improvement pot.
Cllr Pat Strack (Conservative, Kenilworth) and former Cllr Penny Swallow (Con, Kenilworth) each allocated £500 toward the cost of music stands and equipment.
The councillors also gave £250 each to The Borehamwood Com.unity Choir, which they will use toward buying new waistcoats.
Cllr Strack, who coordinated both funding applications, said: “In the difficult financial times we find ourselves in it can be difficult for community groups to update their equipment.
“We were both delighted to be able to lend a helping hand to the choir and the brass band.”
