A FUN-RUN organised by The Rotary Club of Radlett raised more than £700 for local charities.
The annual Five Fields Fun Run, which invites adults and children to take part in a 1.5km and 5km race, took place on bank holiday Monday, May 2.
More than 50 participants took part in the event, which was sponsored by local accountants, Nagler Simmons, allowing all entry fees to go directly to charitable causes.
Rotarian Glenda Green said: “We hope to have raised about £800 for good causes like local charity Watford Peace Hospice.
“We are very grateful to Nagler Simmons for sponsorship, the Mayor of Hertsmere Linda Silver, the chairman of Aldenham Parish Council Ron Worthy and British 10km world record holder of 1973 and London Marathon organiser David Bedford, for presenting the trophies.”
The Rotarian said it had been a record-breaking year, with competitor Blake Vivian winning the 5km race in 17 minutes eight seconds, shaving 23 seconds off the previous best.
