THE A1 southbound between Stirling Corner, Borehamwood, and Apex Corner, Edgware, has been closed following an accident around 15 minutes ago.
Police have stopped access from the roundabouts, and lane three northbound is also blocked as emergency vehicles attend the scene.
There are reports of heavy traffic in both directions.
