Carers from the area were rewarded for their hard work at their very own afternoon tea party recently.
To celebrate National Carer's Week, and salute the efforts of those who care for family members and friends, a party was organised at Elstree retirement home Sunrise Senior Living on Thursday.
Carers from Radlett and Borehamwood enjoyed a well-earned rest and were given a guided tour of the award-winning care home in Edgwarebury Lane.
Hertsmere Crossroads Caring for Carers, which is based in Studio Way, helped organise the event.
"They enjoyed a wonderful afternoon tea and were very impressed with the facilities at Sunrise," said Chief Executive Barbara Kennedy, adding: "We staged several events to mark National Carer's Week to give those who care for others a well-earned break".
It would cost the Government an estimated £57 billion if the country's six million carers stopped doing what they do.
Sunrise's Ray Brown said: "We were happy to host the event in recognition of the efforts of people that are unpaid carers."
