All praise due to Ann and Alan Lawrence and all the stewards at the Elstree and Borehamwood Museum for organising the D Day exhibition, for all local people, who served in the war at the time of D Day.
We learnt about their plans when Alan attended the Royal Naval Association meeting, to enquire if anybody in the Navy would like to tell of their memories of D Day and where they were at the time on the actual day.
We would also like to thank them for the weeks and weeks of hard work to get the exhibition together. We have visited the museum two or three times, and were impressed by the trouble Alan had taken to get old photographs looking like new ones.
We also met old friends we hadn't seen since the war finished. Also we would like to thank Ann and Alan for their kind hospitality each time we called in.
Anyone interested in local history could spend a very interesting hour or so as we did.
John and Daphne Gant Cowley Hill, Borehamwood
