May I take this opportunity of thanking all the residents of the Hillside ward in Boreham Wood who voted for me at last week's local elections. I am delighted to have been elected as the third Conservative representative, joining my colleagues Sandra Parnell and Jean Heywood, who I know have served the area well since being elected to Hertsmere Borough Council over the past few years.
The Conservatives now hold all three wards of Boreham Wood Hillside - a feat which could not have been imagined just a short while ago. Residents have put their faith in our party and we have to ensure that we continue to work for all local people to make Boreham Wood a happier, cleaner and safer place in which to live. That is what so many people told me out on the doorstep in the run up to the polls. I now look forward to those challenges and assure all residents of Hillside - whether they voted for me or not - that I will work as hard as I can on the matters and issues that mean so much to us all.
One thing I did hear from residents is that they are fed up with the squabbling between local politicians and local parties. I hope that we may now be able to move towards a time where everyone - regardless of political persuasion - can start to work together more, for the good of the area. It's evidently what our residents want. And so we have a responsibility to make it happen.
Thank you all once again Cllr Hannah David Conservative, Hillside
