It is an absolute privilege to have been elected as the first Conservative Councillor for the Boreham Wood ward of Brookmeadow.
Many people said that the Tories could never win a seat in Brookmeadow and in fact until now, we never have and yet each time I went knocking on doors to ask residents for their support, I was overwhelmed by the response.
I was even more overwhelmed by the result and am delighted to have been elected with majority of over 200 on a turnout that was up from 23 per cent last year to over 33 per cent this year.
There were many issues that people talked to me about on the doorsteps - from the state of roads and the abundance of potholes blighting our streets, to the continuing anti-social and threatening behaviour by some elements in our towns.
Let me assure all residents that I will be working with my fellow Conservative colleagues at Hertsmere along with the other two Brookmeadow councillors to see what we can do, to help get these difficulties sorted out.
I look forward to serving all residents of Brookmeadow over the next four years and thank them once again for their great support.
Cllr Jeremy Segall Conservative Brookmeadow Ward
