So Kelly Tebb likes to take tea with our pensioners, I would have thought the main concern for our pensioners is the ever-decreasing value of their state pension, which now stands at 14.7 per cent of earnings, compared to 25 per cent in 1980, the Tories abandoning the link.
It's no good making highly moralistic noises with the skinflint, do nothing attitudes of the Tories and New Labour.
The means-tested benefit introduced last October has a lower take up figure than the Government's projected 73 per cent, and women only get 75 per cent of male earnings.
This is to say nothing of the £2billion unclaimed pensions.
I look forward to the day that the aforementioned people put humanity before money and corporate interests.
Finally, on June 19 there will be a TUC march and rally, Pay up for Pensions the blurb reads, show your support for a better pensions deal for all!
See you all there.
