Volunteers are being sought for the crucial job of re-integrating offenders back into society after they have left prison.
Hertfordshire Association for the Care and Resettlement of Offenders is looking for two volunteers to help ex-offenders or those on community orders find somewhere to live.
"Helping these people is helping our communities by reducing the likelihood of their commiting further crimes," said HACRO chairman Penny Williams.
Prisoners and rehabilition out-patients are often left without a roof over their heads. "Having an address is the first step towards applying for benefit, applying for a job or training or being allowed to see their children and get started on a responsible lifestyle," said Mrs Williams.
"The work is stimulating, varied and satisfying and there is no risk involved as volunteers see clients in a safe environment," she said, adding that people experienced in housing matters or willing to learn are needed to work 10am to 4pm at South West Herts Probation Centre in King Street, Watford.
