Programmes for the magnificent Elstree and Borehamwood Festival are not being sent out to residents this year. Instead people can pick up free copies at various public buildings including the library, The Venue, The Hertswood Centre, Hertsmere Council's Civic Offices, Allum Lane Community Centre and Fairway Hall. Call 020 8207 1382.
This year's annual coach trips for Elstree and Borehamwood residents aged 60 and over are now underway. With tickets costing only £5 the trips are great value, and help people travel to places such as Southend, Eastbourne, Bournemouth and Brighton. There are still seats available for a trip to the Cotswolds on June 15. Last year's favourite destination was Hunstanton and the Lavender Fields, but Dover was not so popular. Call 020 8207 1382.
