A Government fund which helped finance projects including the Aberford Hall Community Gardens has been scrapped. The Community Environment Fund, which used money from Landfill Tax Credits to sponsor environmental work, has been ditched after changes to the tax system. Since it was created in 1998 the fund spent £580,000 on projects to raise awareness about environmental issues and improve urban parks.
