Bright sunshine greeted guests who visited an open garden in Elstree on Sunday.
Elstree garden designer Hilde Wainstein opened her one and a half acre garden at St Mary's Croft to the public on Sunday as part of the National Garden Scheme to raise money for charity.
Mrs Wainstein said: "The day went very well indeed and it was an absolutely beautiful day which always helps."
Visitors took the opportunity to wander through the woodland as well as view the garden's large wildlife pond and herb garden.
"Almost 150 people came along and they stayed all afternoon and had tea and cakes," said Mrs Wainstien, adding: "Everyone who came along seemed to like the plants we were selling, there was a really good atmosphere and it was a real success we made £700 for our charities."
MacMillan Cancer Relief and Marie Curie Cancer Care among the charities that will benefit from the sale of plants and refreshments on the day.
St Mary's Croft will be open to the public again on the evening of June 25. For more information call 01483 211535.
