Dame Elizabeth Taylor, who is said to be "doing fine" after being admitted to hospital in Los Angeles on Saturday, is apparently a huge fan of the social networking site Twitter.
And, as if to prove that despite being currently in hospital she is okay, Dame Elizabeth has been reporting her progress to fans via Twitter.
Twitter, of course, lay many years in the future when Dame Elizabeth, 77, last worked in Borehamwood. The Oscar-winning actress, of course, graced the stages at the since-closed MGM-Borehamwood studios on Elstree Way.
Dame Elizabeth's has had her fair share of ups and downs over the years but continues to enjoy life. One of her more recent favourite pastimes is said to be having dinner parties with friends.
What a shame to think that this wonderful actress will probably never visit the Borehamwood area again.
On an appearance of the LWT chat show Aspel & Company in the late eighties, I vividly recall that the suave host Michael Aspel greeted the legendary actress (who was looking particularly well) as she sat down by saying: "Do you mind if I just look at your for the first three hours?"
What a charmer! I wonder if he Twitter's as well?
