A man has been charged with multiple offences after being stopped by police in Borehamwood.

Officers from the Intervention team were on patrol in the Shenley Road area on Monday (30 September) when they spotted a person of interest riding an e-bike.

Herts Police said that having initially tried to make off, the rider was detained and a search was carried out.

An estimated 900 wraps of suspected Class A drugs were discovered, along with a knife and a quantity of cash.

A man was subsequently arrested and further enquiries were carried out by the Hertsmere Local Crime Unit.

Cegerhun Uzun, 24, from Thornbury Gardens in Borehamwood, was charged with:

  • Possession with intent to supply a Class A drug (heroin)
  • Possession of a bladed article in a public place
  • Acquisition, use or possession of criminal property
  • Possession with intent to supply a Class B drug (cannabis).

He appeared before Hatfield Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (1 October) where he was remanded into custody and sent for trial at St Albans Crown Court on 29 October.
