Bushey parents have shared their frustration as a children’s water park remains closed a month after it was shut down - as temperatures soar.

The King George Recreation Ground's Splash Pad has been shut since May 24 due to "water quality issues", according to Hertsmere Borough Council.

The borough council has carried out diagnostic testing and is working to solve the fault as soon as possible, a spokesperson for the borough council said.

However, the safety of our residents is our absolute priority.”

“It never seems to work these days,” one Bushey resident commented. “It’s been a beautiful weekend and still no splash park. What’s the point of having it as it’s always shut?”

Another grandparent added: “It’s such a shame in this lovely weather. So wanted to take my granddaughter tomorrow.”

Lib Dem councillor Maxie Allen said: “This is very frustrating and disappointing for Bushey families who are missing out on fun at the splash park during this beautiful weather.

"We need to establish whether the pump-house can genuinely be made to work reliably again. If not, we must consider how to fund a replacement”.
