A three-year-old was "seriously injured" in a crash yesterday (April 17) in Borehamwood, sparking a police appeal for information.
Herts Police said the boy and his mother had just got off at a bus stop in Shenley Road at around 3.50pm, when he was hit by a white Vauxhall Combo van.
The child sustained a serious head injury and remains in hospital, although his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening. The van driver remained at the scene.
A separate member of the public was also injured in the crash, which happened close to the bus stop outside McDonald's.
Police closed the main road for almost four hours until 7.30pm, and multiple police cars as well as an ambulance were pictured at the scene.

PC Ryan Moore, of the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Road Policing Unit, said: “The boy and his mother had just got off at the bus stop shortly before the collision happened.
“We are trying to piece together what happened next and I would like to hear from any witnesses or anyone with information.
“If you were driving in the area and have a dash cam fitted, please check it and get in contact if you spot anything that could help.”
Anyone with information can contact police by emailing ryan.moore@herts.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting ISR 459 of April 17.
