A "great" four kilometre colour run has been organised in a park between Bushey and Borehamwood.

The 'Colour Fun Run' will take place at Aldenham Country Park on Sunday, June 25.

The event will kick-off at 10am, with the run starting at 11.30am.

Now in its seventh year, the event organised by Peace Hospice Care, which is currently merging with Rennie Grove Hospice Care.

All proceeds from the day will be used to provide care and support for local adults and children with life-limiting illnesses.

Rennie Grove provides care in Buckinghamshire and West Hertfordshire, whist Peace Hospice Care is located on Peace Drive, Watford.

According to Rennie Grove, participants "are free to walk, hop, skip, run or even scoot around the course at their own pace".

Along with the run, live music, food stalls, inflatables and games will be available throughout the course of the event.

Over 4,700 people have taken part in the Colour Fun Runs over the past five years, covering almost 30,000 kilometres - the distance of 497 marathons.

An elephant seal's weight of coloured powder has been thrown over the years - approximately 1,800 kilograms - and a total of £185,000 has been raised since the first run.

Rennie Grove's director of fundraising, Tracey Hancock, said: “The Colour Fun Run is more than just a 4k course – it’s a day out for everybody.

"As well as the colourful race, there will be a whole events village with music, food stalls, inflatables and games available throughout the whole day.

“Whether it’s a day out with the kids, a get together with friends or a team-building activity with workmates, signing up for this year’s Colour Fun Run is a great way to support patient care while doing something different.”

Tickets will cost £15 per adult and £10 per child.

Under-fives will attend for free.
