A 15-year-old girl was repeatedly touched inside a shop before being followed all the way back to her home by the same man.
Police say the sexual assault happened inside the One Stop convenience store in Manor Way, Borehamwood on Sunday November 6.
It was reported to police that the girl was touched inappropriately by a man more than once, sometime between 6.45pm and 7.15pm.
After she left the shop, the same man was walking behind her until she reached her home.
Police have now launched an appeal to trace the man.
He is described as mixed race, of large build, with dreadlocked hair and was wearing a striped T-shirt with a black jacket over the top.
Detective Sergeant Colin Knowles said: “Our enquiries are continuing at this time, including a review of CCTV opportunities.
“As part of the investigation, we’re keen to hear from members of the public who may have information. Did you see a man in the area matching the same description? If you have any information which may assist, please contact us.”
