Libraries in Hertfordshire are inviting new members to join to celebrate the National Year of Reading.
Join A Library Day is taking place on Saturday, April 26, to encourage parents, children and young people to join their local library.
The first children, young people and families that join a Hertfordshire library on Saturday will receive a free copy of the exclusive National Year of Reading's The Ultimate Book Guide and a library welcome pack.
Jim Macrae, district librarian for Hertsmere, said: "New library users can turn up at their local library with just one form of identification, fill in a simple form and join up. Hertfordshire libraries have lots of free resources and a host of services to support reading. This includes regular storytime sessions to internet access, which is free for the first hour for library members."
