I had to write to you to express my concern regarding the traffic signals in London Road, Shenley.
As a motorist I am fed up with roadworks. However as far as these traffic signals are concerned I am more worried about the walking public. In London Road there is a zebra crossing which is used daily by children at Shenley Primary School. On three occasions this week I have noticed near misses on this crossing where cars just refuse to stop.I am so worried that someone will be killed.
On Wednesday last week, one particular motorist decided he did not want to wait and drove on the wrong side of the road and straight through the red light, narrowly missing a child on the crossing.
Ask yourself this, inconsiderate motorists.
If you have knocked down a child or an elderly person and caused them fatal injuries would you now be regretting your actions?
Would you be wishing you had followed the highway code and be praying you don't get a prison sentence? No matter how you would be feeling, how do you think that person's family would be feeling? Learn to drive properly, or use public transport.Name withheldLondon Road, Shenley
