Members of the Borehamwood branch of the Royal British Legion took part in a sponsored walk on Sunday, raising around £900 for ex-servicemen and women.
Despite heavy rain, the 10 walkers made their way from the branch base in Shenley Road, Borehamwood, to Shenley. They then walked down Radlett Hill into Radlett, before arriving back in Borehamwood via Theobald Street. The circuit was around eight miles in length.Poppy Appeal organiser Carol Denbigh said: "The money will be used for the welfare of ex-servicemen and their families and dependants. "It is not just about the Second World War, it is for those who have fought in Afghanistan and Iraq more recently as well. The money is needed now more than ever."
