Speculation was again raised this week over whether BBC soap EastEnders would be moving from Borehamwood to Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire.
Actress Barbara Windsor was quoted in a national newspaper on Monday saying she was "thrilled" to be returning to Pinewood, home of the Carry On films.In December, the corporation insisted no final decision had been made for EastEnders to leave BBC Elstree Studios, despite contrary reports in the national press.The BBC bought the Clarendon Road site from ATV in the Eighties. It was the first studio site to be built in Borehamwood in 1914.A BBC spokeswoman said: "We are currently looking at a number of options for the future site of EastEnders. "Pinewood is one such option, as is staying at Elstree. No decisions have been made."
