The owners of a controversial luxury house in Elstree have submitted a formal complaint to Hertsmere Borough Council after being told they may have to demolish or rebuild the property.
Last month, the Borehamwood & Elstree Times reported that the council's planning committee had issued the owners of the Norwegian Barn site, in Edgwarebury Lane, with an enforcement notice.Six of the eight councillors on the committee voted to take action after an inspection of the property last November found it to be in breach of the previously agreed plans. The owner of the property, Shashi Shah, submitted the complaint following the meeting.A council spokeswoman said: "We have received a complaint but it would be inappropriate to discuss in public the nature of this complaint or to pre-empt any views on this. "We will investigate and respond directly to the complainant."Mr Shah still has the right to appeal the decision and is entitled to submit a retrospective planning application. He was unavailable for comment.
