Many homes were left without water after a pipe burst flooding an area of Borehamwood.
The leak happened this morning causing a huge puddle of water to from by Elstree Way clinic and the Gratitude foodbank hub.
Affinity Water has confirmed it is aware of the leak and engineers are at the scene carrying out repairs.
Firefighters from nearby Borehamwood fire station also worked to pump the water away.
Residents across Borehamwood and Shenley reported having no water this morning (July 5) which Affinity Water indicated was because of the burst in Elstree Way.
The supplier initially said: “We’re really sorry you haven’t got any water. We have a burst water main on Elstree Way which may be causing this.
"Our technician and repair team have arrived on site and are currently assessing the damage.
At 12.25pm, the supplier updated to say: “We have restored water to the majority of the area. Our repair team are still working on Elstree Way to repair the burst pipe.
"Once we know how long this will take, we'll let you know.”
Elstree Way is currently shut to all drivers in both directions by the Brook Road Roundabout, with buses on diversion.
