A man has pleaded guilty to stealing a radio from a vehicle in a hotel car park.
John McDonagh, 29, of Featherstone Road in Southall, west London, was charged by police in connection with a theft on Saturday June 18.
At around 9.20pm, a Matika radio was stolen from a vehicle in a hotel car park on the A1 Barnet bypass in Borehamwood.
McDonagh appeared at Stevenage Magistrates Court today (June 21), where he pleaded guilty to theft from a motor vehicle.
He was released on bail and will be sentenced at St Albans Crown Court on July 15.
Last week, Hertfordshire Constabulary said it had received reports of vans being broken into in hotel car parks in Borehamwood and Potters Bar.
Inspector Rachael Robertson, from the Hertsmere safer neighbourhood team, said: “Although we have only seen a slight increase in thefts from vans in Hertsmere, we want to make sure we act fast and make it as difficult as possible for these thieves to operate.”
