Roadworks near Costco are causing major disruption that locals feared would happen.
Four-way temporary traffic lights were installed at a crossroads in Bushey yesterday (March 28) causing delays of at least 30 minutes.
The traffic lights at the junction of Little Bushey Lane, Aldenham Road, Hartspring Lane, and Bushey Mill Lane are being refurbished which is scheduled to take a month to complete.
Hertfordshire Highways reported at 5pm that the work was causing long delays of 30 minutes in Hartspring Lane from Aldenham towards Bushey.

The queues continued into the evening with the Hartspring Roundabout clogging up blocking traffic on the A41 from Elstree, as drivers queued into the lights past Costco.
Shoppers leaving the wholesaler were also affected and there was a long line of traffic in Little Bushey Lane and in Aldenham Road past Queens' School as well.

Bushey North county councillor Laurence Brass had warned this work could cause "significant disruption" in an area which already suffers from severe congestion.
He said he was told by Hertfordshire County Council the work is necessary because the traffic lights are 20 years old and have become a "maintenance liability".
Cllr Brass said he would "monitor" the progress of the work and "press" the council to ensure the work is completed on time, which is currently set for April 29.
He says he has been in touch with the council's contractor Ringway today to express concerns about the traffic. He said he asked if work could take place on weekends and whether there was a chance the April 29 date could be brought forward but was not given any firm answer.
However, he says Ringway have agreed to have a man manually controlling the traffic lights to try and control the flow of traffic better.
Disruption during the morning rush hour is likely to ease from April 4 for two weeks because of the Easter holidays, but last night's images show drivers travelling in the evening rush hour are likely to be impacted throughout the duration of the work.
