A popular coffee shop in Borehamwood town centre has closed down after nearly two decades of trading.
Caffè Nero in Shenley Road says it has shut because the building it is situated in is set to be redeveloped.
A notice put up inside the Italian coffee chain's Borehamwood branch said: "Sadly after 17 years here this Caffè Nero has had to close due to circumstances beyond our control.
"We have loved being here and would like to thank you for being a wonderful customer - it has always been a privilege to serve you."
Caffè Nero says those working at the branch are being relocated to other nearby outlets.
A spokesperson told the Times: "Our store in Borehamwood is closing due to the landlord looking to redevelop the property for other uses.
"We’re sorry to close, and all our staff are being relocated to other nearby stores. We will continue to evaluate other potential sites which may be suitable in the future."
The closest Caffè Nero branch is in Watling Street in Radlett. It also has branches in Watford, St Albans, and Edgware.
