A man has been jailed for 25 years after a 16-year-old was shot in the neck in Borehamwood.
Police, armed officers and the ambulance service were called to Cranes Way at 10.50pm on August 4 2020 where they found the victim with a gunshot wound.
He has been left paralysed from the waist down, with restricted mobility from the neck down, after being hospitalised for 10 months.
Sean Price, of Rushmore Road in Ipswich, was charged with attempted murder, possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.
The 24-year-old denied all the charges but was found guilty of possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life, and not guilty of attempted murder or conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.
During the trial the court was told the victim was shot while he was a passenger in a Ford Fusion making its way back to Borehamwood from Barnet.

Detective inspector Mark Butler said: “Unlawful possession and discharge of firearms will not be tolerated and we will do all we can to investigate any incident like this and bring offenders to justice.
"The sentence imposed highlights that the court recognised the seriousness of the offending."
