It looks like a gym has been lined up to move into Borehamwood Shopping Park in the near future.
Plans have been submitted to install Anytime Fitness signs at the unit that was formerly Frankie's and Benny's.
Anytime Fitness is a US-based franchise of 24 hour health and fitness clubs operating in more than 4,000 locations across 50 countries.
The nearest branch is currently in Bushey with further gyms in Hemel Hempstead, Welwyn Garden City, and Letchworth in Hertfordshire.
In its application to the council, planning agents Savills says the gym will increase the accessibility of health and fitness facilities in the area as well as create new jobs.
The unit, which has been empty since 2017, is situated to the left of Aldi and planning papers state that no major changes are proposed to the building or its layout.
The application can be found on the council's planning portal via reference 21/2339/ADV
