A teenager has died in a car crash on the A1 near Borehamwood.
The 19-year-old was driving his black BMW 320 northbound between Stirling Corner and South Mimms when the incident happened on Tuesday, November 30.
Around 10.50pm, the car left the carriageway and understood to have struck a barrier and lamppost.
Officers and the ambulance service attended but the driver died at the scene.
His next of kin have been informed.
Police are appealing for witnesses, information and dash cam footage.
Sergeant Ian Manley, of the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Road Policing Unit, said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the young man who sadly died in this incident.
“We are working to establish the circumstances surrounding the collision and are appealing for any witnesses or anyone who has dash cam footage of the vehicle prior to the incident, or of the incident itself, to get in touch.
