A record £2,000 was raised at an annual garden party in aid of a children's charity.
The event held at Schopwick Place in Elstree on August 8 was the first fundraising activity the NSPCC committee had been able to hold since the first lockdown.
Elstree & Borehamwood Town Council mayor Cllr Farida Turner officially opened the party, which was attended by former mayors, as well as serving councillors and other guests.
The committee set up stalls with arts and crafts and plants, while there were games to entertain the guests as well.
Hertsmere Labour leader Jeremy Newmark attended and he tweeted: "Great to spend some time this afternoon at Elstree’s beautiful historic Shopwick Place for the Elstree & Borehamwood @NSPCC summer garden party."

Ann Goddard and Normal Shuker welcomed those in attendance into the Victorian garden, and musicians from Strummers in the Wood were invited to add to the pleasant and uplifting vibe of the party.
Most importantly, the event was held to raise money for the NSPCC.
This year, £2,012,40 was raised which was an all-time record for the NSPCC annual garden party that has been running since the 1950s.
Ann Goddard thanked all of those who gave their time and money to support the charity.
