UPDATE - Families day cancelled due to weather
Borehamwood's biggest summer event is back tomorrow and promises to provide plenty of free entertainment for youngsters and adults alike.
Families Day at Meadow Park is the culmination of Elstree & Borehamwood Town Council's Civic Festival.
After a year away because of the pandemic, the event is the perfect place to sample the best of what Borehamwood has to offer in one of the biggest community events in the calendar.
Alongside all of the stalls and entertainment such as free fairground rides, performers will take to the stage in the brand new bandstand that was completed this summer - and there's a packed schedule.
At 1pm, there will be a show from the Shoshana Burns School of Dance, followed by a performance at 1.30pm from Elstree Productions.
Thirty minutes later, Hertsmere Academy of Dance will take to the stage before Elstree Productions returns once again to close the show.
According to the official Families Day 2021 poster, there will be a host of other activities, which will all be free.
This includes a rainbow assault castle, Spider-Man bungee trampolines, an inflatable slide, inflatable gladiator, inflatable bungee run, toy ride, airplane ride, cups and saucer ride, carousel ride, power birdy photo booth, and Shetland Ponies.
There will also be plenty of refreshments, along with stalls, and guests.
The event at Meadow Park kicks off at midday (Saturday August 7) and runs until 4pm.
The 2021 Civic Festival has been running since July 24. Events have includes brass band concerts, chess night, the literary festival, quiz night, movies in the park, and a virtual talent show.
