A man was found with injuries to his arm, neck, and ear after police responded to reports of an assault.
Officers were called to Barton Way in Borehamwood at 4.35pm yesterday (July 21).
A man was found injured and he was taken to hospital.
The area where the man was found was then taped off by police.
Following enquiries, Hertfordshire Constabulary says a 40-year-old man from Borehamwood was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and assaulting a police officer.
He was also detained under the Mental Health Act.
The man has since been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
