The EastEnders set in Borehamwood was broken into by two intruders who later filmed themselves re-enacting a famous scene from the soap.
The Sun says the pair sparked a major security alert after gaining access to the BBC Elstree Centre on Monday night (July 5).
The break-in was streamed live on social media platform Instagram with thousands of viewers watching as they were chased by security guards.
At one stage, they were on the roof of the Queen Vic and reportedly laughed as they pretended to re-enact a scene from 2010 where fictional EastEnders character Bradley Branning falls to the ground after losing his balance while being chased by a police officer.
One of the intruders is said to have shouted in a panic: "There’s police coming!" Security guards at the television set closed in on the intruders, with one detained.
A spokesperson for Hertfordshire Constabulary told The Sun: "A 16-year-old boy from Kent was detained by security staff and subsequently arrested on suspicion of being found on enclosed premises, going equipped to steal."
EastEnders told The Sun: "We never comment on security matters."
This is not the first time the EastEnders set has been broken into.
Last summer, three YouTubers filmed themselves breaking into the Eastenders set during lockdown at 5am after climbing a security fence.
In 2019, YouTubers Ally Law and Ryan Taylor were ordered to do 120 hours of community service respectively after they were caught breaking into the now-demolished Celebrity Big Brother house at Elstree Studios.
