The cost of residents’ parking permits and paying to park in car parks and shopping streets in Borehamwood and Elstree is set to increase from April 1.
A notice from Hertsmere Borough Council has outlined the full schedule of charges that are due to take effect from the start of next month across the borough.
These apply to on-street permit holder parking places, pay and display and on-street parking charges, off-street car parking areas and permits for business and school parking.
Permit parking
The annual cost of one resident’s permit will rise from £25 to £30 from April 1, £40 to £50 for a second permit, £70 to £80 for a third permit and £100 to £110 for a fourth permit.
The cost of a book of 20 vouchers for visitor parking will double from £5 to £10. An annual visitor’s permit will rise from £40 to £50.
A number of resident permit zones in Borehamwood and Elstree are affected including:
Zone A - Boreham Holt, Cavendish Crescent, Fir Tree Court, Hartfield Avenue (in part) Holt Close, Knowl Park, Knowl Way, Lodge Avenue (in part), Shenley Road (in part), The Rise
Zone B - Brownlow Road, Cedars Close (in part), Drayton Road, Dunnock Close, Furzehill Road (in part), Goldfinch Way, Shenley Road (in part), Siskin Close
Zone C - Almond Way, Cardinal Avenue (in part), Furzehill Road (in part), Hillside Avenue (in part), Mildred Avenue, Shenley Road (in part), Whitehouse Avenue
Zone D - Clarendon Road, Essex Road, Glenhaven Avenue (in part), Grosvenor Road, Malden Road, Shenley Road (in part)
Zone E - Audrey Close, Brodewater Road, Brook Road (in part), Broughinge Road, Canterbury Road (in part), Chatsworth Close, Croxdale Road, Eldon Avenue, Fairway Avenue, Gables Avenue, Haddon Close, Holme Park, Lexington Close, Red Road, Stratfield Road, Theobald Street, Welbeck Close, Shenley Road (part)
Zone G - Auden Drive, Coleridge Way, Melrose Avenue, Shelley Close, Wordsworth Gardens
Zone H - Ashdown Drive, Badgers Close, Kingsley Avenue
Pay and display
Pay and display car parking charges will also rise from anywhere between 30p to nearly £2 in various streets and car parks.
Pay and display bays in streets and car parks in Borehamwood affected include Shenley Road, Whitehouse Avenue, Cardinal Avenue, Clarendon Road, Glenhaven Avenue, Grosvenor Road, Drayton Road, Station Road, Maxwell Road, as well as council owned car parks in Brook Road, Furzehill Road, at Hertsmere Civic Centre, and in Clarendon Road.
No free 30 minute parking already in existence in Borehamwood is being taken away.
