Police officers raided a number of properties in Borehamwood this morning.
Hertfordshire Constabulary says officers from its Team Scorpion and Operational Support Group raided and searched a number of addresses in the town at around 6.30am.
Police say a quantity of drugs and weapons were seized, with a teenager set to be interviewed by officers.
Detective Inspector Baz Kaila, of the Hertsmere local crime unit, said: "We are aware the police presence in the community this morning will have caused some concern in the area.
"We want to reassure the community that this was a pre-planned, multi-lateral operation to disrupt criminality in the area and involved the collaboration of different policing units working with a common aim.
"We hope it has reassured the community that we can and will take overt action when we have intelligence to suggest criminality is occurring.
"Following this morning’s activity, the safer neighbourhood team are conducting reassurance patrols in the area.
"I would urge anyone who has suspicions about crime in their community to contact police with information, so we can take action."
