One man has died and another man is in hospital after a stabbing last night.
Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was found with fatal stab wounds in a car off the A1 Barnet Bypass near Scratchwood Park.
The Met Police were initially called to Courtland Avenue, off the Barnet Bypass, at 8.11pm yesterday (Thursday) after reports of a fight.
No victims or suspects were found in the area, but around 15 minutes later, the Met received a call from the London Ambulance Service (LAS).
The LAS said they had found a man at Scratchwood Park in his 20s who had been stabbed.
He was taken to hospital.
But a search of a car at the scene found a man in his 30s also suffering from stab wounds.
Paramedics worked to try and save his life but he died in the car.
Enquiries are ongoing to notify his next of kin. A post-mortem examination will take place in due course.
Pictures show a blue forensic tent erected in a car park at Scratchwood, an open space on the Barnet and Hertfordshire border.
The A1 was also closed for a period of time between Edgware and Borehamwood last night.
